Senior Front End Engineer - Contract (6 months)

As Zapp enters its next stage of growth, we are hiring a Senior Front End Engineer to join our Commerce Platform team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create a strategy to align usability and user experience over all our services, building the foundation and Component libraries that can be used in each of our Frontends.
• Deliver high-quality user interfaces: Own the implementation of responsive, accessible, and performant UI components using modern frameworks (e.g., React, Next.js, TypeScript).
• Contribute to product development: Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Backend teams to translate business requirements and user needs into elegant technical solutions.
• Lead by example: Set coding standards and mentor less experienced engineers through code reviews, best practices, and hands-on support.
• Own the front-end architecture: Make informed decisions about tooling, frameworks, and performance optimisation to ensure scalable, maintainable code.
• Ensure platform reliability: Proactively identify bugs, performance issues, and usability challenges, delivering timely fixes and enhancements.
• Work autonomously: Operate with a high degree of independence, managing priorities and delivery timelines in a contract capacity.
• Collaborate in agile workflows: Participate in sprint planning, standups, and retrospectives as part of a high-performing, cross-functional team.
• Champion the user experience: Help refine user journeys and advocate for design consistency, usability, and customer satisfaction.

Requirements: 

• 5+ years of experience with React, NextJS and Tailwind
• 5+ years of experience with TypeScript
• Experience with GQL, Firestore and REST
